![]() The black gloss finish on the face of the headstock is perfect. The Sire logo and Larry Carlton signature are rendered tastefully, and not overly ostentatious. The headstock size does create a sharp angle for the strings as they travel through the nut - though this probably will not be an issue if the nut is cut correctly. Nevertheless, I really like the headstock shape and it complements the dimensions of the body of the guitar well. The headstock is slightly larger (wider and taller) than a Gibson Les Paul, so it might be a snug fit in some LP style cases. There is a dent on the body, probably a tooling mark, which has been painted and varnished over to make flush, but the mark is still visible and about 5 X 2 mm in size. Given the reputation of Sire bases I was expecting high quality construction and sound.įirst impressions: the gold top is gorgeous - it's difficult to capture metallic finishes in photographs, but in person the gold colour is on the sparkly side of the gold used on Gibsons. The L7 is the Les Paul type model, GT denotes the gold top finish.
